For an extreme use, Newfren suggests for the front wheel, the floating brake disc. This disc offers the peculiarity of a heat treated material and assures very good performance, above all if combined with Newfren BKS or sintered S2 brake pads. The technical development arises from the cooperation with the riders on the Off-road World Championships. The result is a product whose strong points are the lightness and the resistance. The peculiarity of the floating brake disc is the rotor which is unlinked from the central hub (it freely moves on Ergal bobbins machined from solid, anodized and heat treated). This system highly reduces the stress of the disc therefore the wear. Moreover it offers a better disposal of the heat, so that the brake rotor can easily adjust. The better cooling reached with this system will avoid the irritating problem of the withdrawal of the brake pads inside the caliper, which often happens during the strong use in downhill roads and paths.
