VP300533 POLINI HIGH TORQUE CLUTCH FOR RACE with WAVE SPRING 23T HELICAL GEAR - fits VESPA PX with 67/68T HELICAL (67t=2.91 to 1 RATIO, 68t=2.95 to 1 Ratio). .Polini High Torque Clutch for Race is the top tier of Vespa clutch engineering, developed directly from endurance competition where smooth engagement and absolute reliability are non-negotiable. Its reversed-layout design transforms the feel of the PX, Cosa, PE and T5 platforms, giving you precise, effortless gear changes even under heavy load. The heart of the system is a Polini adjustable wave spring, allowing you to fine-tune clutch tension using spacers for the exact bite you want. The basket is machined from a special aluminium alloy for strength without excess weight, while the aluminium clutch plates use eight tabs and an increased friction surface to deliver serious grip with excellent heat stability. A pressure plate running on an axial bearing keeps operation smooth and consistent, even during long, hard rides. This version comes with a 23-tooth helical gear designed to pair with the 67 or 68 tooth primary gears on the 125/150 motors for a 2.95:1 ratio (70.6mph at 7000rpm) with a 67 tooth gear, or 2.91:1 ratio (69.5mph at 7000rpm) with a 68 tooth gear, the gear ratio makes it ideal for a more sporty ride especially increasing the power and capacity of the motor. Polini also includes a special clutch nut, and an extended clutch breather to accommodate the increased oil capacity â the system runs with 500 ml of gearbox oil for improved cooling and longevity. The result is a clutch that feels light and refined on the lever, brutally strong under power, and perfectly suited to modern performance engines while keeping the unmistakable Vespa character intact.
